Drag to set the distance — with RATE on Fixed, the angle too. The whole field on one screen.
The deep engine.
ORBIT is the flagship: a full binaural spatial engine. Place a sound anywhere around you, set it orbiting, or fly it past with real Doppler. Headphones or speakers — mono-safe with IN PHASE.
Bends the orbit eccentric: the source flies close then far, pitch rising and falling. A real fly-by.
Free, tempo-synced (1/4–1 bar), or Fixed placement. The orbit follows your track.
Erratic, alien motion — darting speed and azimuth wobble.
Ear-shadow width plus decorrelated early reflections that push the sound outside your head.
Headphones or speakers (crosstalk-cancelled). IN PHASE guarantees mono.
Real binaural, measured.
ORBIT is the conservative, pure binaural core — no tricks, just acoustics.
A variable-position HRIR spatializer: two bracketing voices crossfade with fractional-delay ITD, so the source moves without clicks.
Under a meter, Duda–Martens proximity: bass bloom and asymmetric ear-shadow. The source gets intimate.
Pitch emerges from propagation delay — no pitch-shifter: the pitch is the propagation delay moving.
Early reflections (Room) lower interaural coherence, so sound leaves your head.
Crosstalk cancellation for speakers — that stage adds no latency of its own; IN PHASE drops it for mono.
A stereo-linked sample-peak limiter holds the internal peak at −1.4 dBFS; OUTPUT and the filters sit after it (measured true-peak −1.2 dBFS with pink noise, up to −0.05 dBFS with full-scale broadband material).
ORBIT is free. And open.
ORBIT on its own, ready to go — the Mac installer (VST3 + AU, universal, macOS 11+) drops it straight into your plug-in folders: double-click, done. On Windows: VST3 (64-bit, 10+) as a ZIP.

First time? How to install on Mac and Windows, and in your DAW →
Coming from 0.2.x — the plug-ins are now called OVNI ORBIT.vst3 and OVNI ORBIT.component. On macOS the installer retires the old ORBIT for you, but only if it is ours (com.ovni.orbit): someone else's Orbit is never touched, and nothing is deleted — it is moved to ~/Library/Application Support/OVNI Audio/replaced/<date>/. Then run killall -9 AudioComponentRegistrar and rescan in your DAW. On Windows, delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\ORBIT.vst3 by hand before copying the new folder in. Your saved projects keep working: only the file name moved.
Updates for ORBIT — and whatever lands next.
